WHAT IS BJJ?
Brazilian Jiu‑Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, self-defense system, and fitness discipline built on one principle: leverage beats strength. That means a smaller person can control and submit a larger opponent — making BJJ effective for anyone, regardless of size or athletic background.

Deddy Wigraha introduced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Indonesia in 1998, having trained under legends Rickson Gracie and Charles Gracie before earning his black belt from Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti — founder of the globally renowned Alliance Jiu-Jitsu team. He serves as President of the Federasi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Indonesia and served as head coach of the Indonesian National Jiu-Jitsu Team at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. Beyond competition, Deddy trains the country's most elite military and police units — Kopassus, Sat-81, and Densus 88. Today, his network spans 11 schools across Indonesia and reaches affiliate academies in three countries.
